We the People;
Let me start out by saying this is in no way intended to harm or offend anyone and if I do, I’m truly sorry.
There is no doubt I was shocked by what I saw on the morning of September 11, 2001. Four hijacked airplanes were destined to kill American people! I had such a hatred for terrorists and what they had done. I even entertained the idea of joining the military. But when President Bush was talking about going in to Iraq to find W.M.D.’s, and route out the terrorists, I skipped school in protest of our administration wanting to go to war (my first protest ever). That moment changed my life forever. This is why I am writing this essay; to expose the lies and atrocities perpetuated by the Bush administration to justify their reason for going to war.
We let our President fool us into thinking that September 11, 2001 was an accident. I don’t think that was true. President Bush and the Royal Saudis are close friends and business partners. Osama Bin Laden was from Saudi Arabia, not from Afghanistan. All the hijackers are from Saudi Arabia. After the horrific attacks happened, President Bush (after being flown to Camp David) flew the family of Osama Bin Laden out of the country, on Air Force One. Our government flew the family of the most wanted man in the world out of the country, without even questioning them!?! Shouldn’t that raise some questions? Maybe there is some connection between the Bush Administration, Osama Bin laden and the Saudi’s?
“ ’Look’ he told us(Bush), I know you have a lot to do and all…….But I want you, as soon as you can, to go back over everything, everything. See if Saddam did this. See if he is linked in any way…’
(Mr. Clarke) I was at once taken aback, incredulous and it showed. ‘But Mr. President, Al Qaeda did this.’
(Bush) replied, ‘I know, I know, but… see if Saddam was involved. Just look. I want to know.’
‘But, you know, we have looked several times for state sponsorship of Al Qaeda and not found any real linkages to Iraq’, (Mr. Clarke)” (Against all Enemies, page 32).
After we went into Afghanistan, we suddenly had a “reason” to go into Iraq. They now were our enemy. The September 11, 2001 death toll was about 3,000 people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11,_2001_Terrorist_Attack) There have been between 9,061-10,918(Iraqibodycount.org) The number of Iraqis that have died is more than three times the amount of people that died on September 11, 2001! We are talking about humans here. Their live are not any more or less valuable than ours are. When I tell people this, many of them do not really care, because there not American civilians. Some people value American lives over foreigner’s lives. The only thing we liberated is the oil under the sand. Bushes patriotic duty is not to bomb the “holy” land.
The war in Iraq was a fictitious war brought on by fabricated reasons. We have found no weapons of mass destruction. If we do, great; one less dictator with nuclear weapons. However, if this is one of the reasons we went into Iraq, we should be in North Korea as well. It has been confirmed that North Korea has terrible weapons and we do nothing (http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/dprk/)! They do not have the oil our greedy Administration’s thrives on. We, the United States of America, are willing to murder in order to obtain the precious oil that feeds this Administration! Shouldn’t that raise some questions?
Former President Clinton was impeached on the grounds of adultery. Our current President goes into other countries for his own benefits, to settle his father’s old scores, and Americans allow him to continue on this destructive path. Why, I ask, when there is so much evidence to confirm his imperialistic policies and yet he remains in office? What we are really struggling against is a war for oil and fighting to advance self-serving American interests.
We, the American people, have to draw the line here and no farther. We must stop this Administration from destroying our nation and the world! We have to stop it before it’s too late. America, where are you now? Don’t you care about your sons
