(My World View)

My worldview has been sculpted and polished over the past several months. It is based on seven questions “What is God like?” “What is the nature of the universe?” “What is the essential nature of man?” “What is basis of morality and ethics?” “What is the cause of evil and suffering?” “What happens to man at death?” and “What is the meaning of history?” These questions are the basis of my worldview.

First, “What is God like?” Well, there is only one God, but at the same time there is the Trinity. God is not a part of the Trinity; God is the Trinity. He is a perfect and a righteous God. God is the creator of all things in heaven, earth, and everything in between. I believe that God has given us many blessing on earth for us. Such as when God sent His one and only son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Also the beautiful creation He gave for our enjoyment.

Second, “ What is the nature of the universe?” I believe that when God first created the universe it was a perfect universe. But when sin entered the world, the universe became corrupted along with everything else. Now the universe, and all that was in it, had to be separated from God. He didn’t make us sin and God didn’t want us to, we made that choice by ourselves.

Third, “What is the essential nature of man?” When God first created Adam from the dust of the ground and Eve from Adam’s rib, they were created without sin. But when Adam and Eve took the fruit from the tree that God had commanded them not to, sin entered the world. From that point on every man and woman had a sin nature from as soon as they were born. The only thing that could save all of mankind was God sending down a Savior, Jesus, to die for us on the cross, which God did.

Fourth, “What is the basis of morality and ethics?” The basis of morality and ethics comes from God. God sets the standards that we need to follow. I believe that when people and the government add and subtract things to God’s original rules, the society becomes increasingly corrupted. I believe that our country has been slowly but surly changing the laws that our founding fathers had made which were following God’s law. By the government slowly changing the laws, it is altering our thinking and it is easy to become used to it. It is like the analogy of the frog and the boiling water. If you put a frog in water and slowly raise the temperature until it boils, the frog dies without knowing the water was boiling. I think that is what our society is doing to us.

Fifth, “What is the cause of evil and suffering?” As I said before, sin is the reason for our corrupted universe. Sin is part of the answer to this question as well. When the original sin occurred, God punished man not only with death, but that there would be increased pains sufferings that man would have to live in. The other part to the answer of the question is that the free will of man caused this to happen. We chose to sin, God didn’t make us to it, but he knew it would happen.

Sixth, “What happens to man at death?” I believe that at death we are judged not according to our works, but if we believe that God sent His one and only Son to die for our sins. After we have believed that, God will reward us with the gift of living eternal life with Him in Heaven. If we chose not to accept that gift, then we will spend eternity in Hell.

Seventh, “What is the meaning to history?” When we read the Bible, we see the mistakes and the Godly things that man has made in the past. It is important to look back at those things because we need to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them, and remember the Godly things and repeat those things. If we do not learn from our mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them.
