John Locke

John Locke an English philosopher was an important enlightment writer. He wrote pieces on natural rights. His thoughts were based on the native Americans and the “new world”. He thought that the government should help the citizens more than the leaders. He made colonists think about a democracy. When the colonists read about the Greek, Roman, and Native American’s government. The coloinists saw how the Greek, Roman, and Native Americans lived freely and governed themselves. The colonists knew that they could govern themselves and they would not need a king or noble to make their decisions. They fought against the british because they wanted freedom so why put a noble in charge and force another revolution?
