Mitch Park YMCA
I visited the newly open YMCA called Mitch Park YMCA . It is one of the nicest facilities I have ever visited. As you walk into this facility you are welcomed by
A very large and beautiful lobby area filled with families that are members . The YMCA mission is "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that help healthy spirit, mind and body for all."
The target population for this particular gym would be young families, children, Christian people and the elderly. This gym offers many different activities everyday including silver sneakers, zumba, swimming classes, kick boxing classes, adult classes ,children classes , yoga and also daycare for parents. Most of these classes are throughout the day at different times throughout the week and located inside of the YMCA on the bottom floor in the main workout room for class activities.
This agency uses many volunteers for aquatic centers, adult leagues, building grounds, childcare, clerical, health, special events, and teen programs and youth sports. The cost for a single adult wanting to join the YMCA is 38.00 monthly with a 70 dollar joining fee. The joining fee for a teen is 19 dollars monthly with no joining fee and it is 58 monthly for a family membership with a 105-dollar joining fee. This facility offers many different programs such as an aquatic center with swimming lessons, a schedule for lap openings, body pump, yoga, zumba and also children classes. This facility also offers childcare as the parents work out through out this facility. There was a nursery for the younger children and then a Wii/ game room in which to play Xbox the kids must peddle a bike to power the television. As their children are being cared for these adults can have some free time up inside the weight room/ cardio room or enjoy a swim. This place is family based and actually visiting it made me appreciate it and want to join my future family one-day.
