I. QUTBUDDIN AIBAK
T WAS A SLAVE WHOM MUHAMMED GHORI HAD BROUGHT.


T HE THEN BECAME THE GOVERNOR OF INDIAN DURING MUHAMMED GHORIS REIGN.


T AFTER THE DEATH OF MUHAMMED GHORI, HIS VAST TERRIROTIES WERE DIVIDED AMONG HIS GENERALS AND RELATIONS, WHILE QUTUBUDDIN BECAME AN INDEPENDENT RULER.


T BEING A SLAVE THE DYNASTY HE FOUNDED CAME TO BE KNOWN AS THE SLAVE DYNASTY.


T HE WAS A GREAT CONQUEROR.


T HE WAS A GREAT BUILDER.


T HE BUILT BEAUTIFUL MOSQUES IN DELHI & AJMER AND BEGAN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE QUTUB MINAR.


T WHILE PLAYING A GAME SOMEWHAT, SIMILAR TO POLO HE FELL FROM HIS HORSE AND THIS RESULTED IN HIS DEATH IN 1210 A.D.


II. IITUTMISH
T WAS QUTBUDDIN AIBAK’S SON –IN –LAW.


T HE WAS ALSO A SLAVE AND HAD BEEN PURCHASED BY QUTBUDDIN FOR A VERY HIGH PRICE.


T HE STRENGHTENED THE EMPIRE.


T HE CONQUERED MANY TERRITORIES UNDER THE RAJPUTS – GUJARAT, MALWA, UJJAIN & GWALIOR.


T HE MADE DELHI HIS CAPITAL.


T WAS A GOOD RULER


T A PATRON OF ART & LEARNING


T A GREAT BUILDER AND WAS THE ONE TO COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE QUTUB MINAR


T HE APPOINTED HIS DAUGHTER RAZIA AS HIS SUCCESSOR AS HE WAS DISPLEASED WITH ALL HIS SONS


T AFTER HIS DEATH, HE WAS BURRIED NEAR THE QUTUB MINAR.

AFTER THE DEATH OF IITUTMISH THE NOBLES DID NOT LIKE RAZIA, A WOMAN TO RULE OVER THEM AND THEREFORE PLACED PRINCE RUKN-UD-DIN ON THE THRONE. BEING A MAN OF WEAK CHARACTER PRINCE RUKN-UD-DIN WAS REMOVED SOON AND RAZIA WAS DECLARED AS THE SULTANA OF DELHI.

T HE INTRODUCED STERN DISCIPLINE IN HIS COURT AND HIS COURTIERS HAD TO PERFORM SIJDAH THAT IS TO KNEEL BEFORE THE SULTAN AND TOUCH THEIR HEAD TO THE GROUND IN SALUTATION TO HIM


T HE DIED IN 1286 A.D.AND WAS SUCCEEDED ONE AFTER THE OTHER BY HIS SONS WHO PROVED TO BE WORTHLESS AND INEFFICINT AND FINALLY A NOBLE MAN JALAL-UD-DIN KHILJI CAPTURED THE THRONE AND THUS ENDED THE SLAVE DYNASTY.
