Hamlet does not fit my standard as a hero. He is more of a vigilante acting out of desire and madness. He may have begun with the greatest intentions but as we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions. As the book progresses we see him delve deeper in to his madness and the original plan is mucked because of it. He turns vengeful and paranoid which leads to many unneeded deaths and a great deal of tragedy for all survivors in the play, which there are not very many from the cast we knew. So in conclusion Hamlet who started as a hero is driven away from this noble goal by an ever-consuming madness.
